If you’re one of those people who frequent upscale hotels and establishments, you can definitely attest to the ability of crystal chandeliers in adding an air of luxury to any space. At one point, you may have conveyed an interest in purchasing one for your own home. However, you may have decided against the idea after realizing how expensive such lighting fixtures can be.
On account of their elegant designs and expensive-looking components, it’s not too hard to accept the fact that crystal chandeliers can indeed cost you a lot of money. Luckily, there are a number of ways to pull off the guise of luxury you’re aiming for. The decorating plan still involves a crystal chandelier though, but hopefully without the steep price tag.
Tip #1: Shop Around For The Best Deals In Town
An excellent way to ensure that you’ve truly found a good buy is to shop around first. Expand your options by window-shopping or by looking through catalogs of crystal chandeliers. Don’t just focus on the prices. Determine if you’re really getting what your money’s worth by inspecting the pieces, as well as the entire structure. The rule is that the chandelier should be well-made and should at least possess the look you’re going for without requiring a large sum of money.
Tip #2: Check Out Flea Markets And Garage Sales
These places are actually good sources of home decors. So try not to ignore the possibility of stumbling upon exceptional finds when going to a flea market or a garage sale. Another delightful feature of shopping there is the opportunity to haggle. With a bit of luck, you might go home with a crystal chandelier for a much lower price.
Tip #3: Settle For A Replica
Crystal chandeliers crafted from authentic crystals normally cost a fortune. More often than not, only affluent homeowners could afford such expensive decorating fixtures. Since you’re shopping on a tight budget, try to settle for a crystal chandelier that is not made of the genuine article. Just make sure that you purchase a replica that still lends the appearance you’re aiming for.
Tip #4: Be Creative
Another brilliant option to shopping around for low-priced crystal chandeliers would be to craft one instead. Then again, you have got to be creative and resourceful enough to pull off the task; otherwise, you’ll only end up squandering your money away for a failed project.
In addition to that prerequisite, you need to allocate a certain amount of time and effort for this “home improvement” endeavor. As soon as your plans begin to materialize, you’ll realize that it’s even more satisfying to make your own crystal chandelier as opposed to spending a sizable amount of money to purchase one.
Without a doubt, crystal chandeliers function as stylish centerpieces in any room in the house. Then again, you don’t necessarily have to break the bank just to get one. Make use of the practical tips mentioned above and give your home a splash of elegance that would leave your guests green-eyed with envy.

When it comes to designing a house, a lot of people typically pull out all the stops in order to create a home that somehow mirrors their personalities. Such an endeavor, however, can sometimes be costly seeing as some property owners willingly go to great lengths to customize just about everything. To add a dash of elegance to a particular room or hallway, crystal chandeliers are the preferred finishing touches by homeowners and interior decorators alike. Fortunately, these lighting fixtures come in a wide range of prices—from very cheap, to overly expensive varieties.
The Chandelier Should Reflect Your Personality
If you intend to make your unique personality radiate from every corner of your home, you really have to put in a sufficient amount of effort into the task. Think of the things you truly like or the activities you’re frequently involved in. After that, try to visualize the appearance of a particular room while gradually inserting items that reflect who you are. Other pieces of furniture (i.e. crystal chandeliers) could also be customized to echo your personal taste.
The Chandelier Should Be Within Your Budget
Overspending is perhaps one of the most common mistakes that people commit when decorating their houses. You need to realize that it is absolutely impractical to purchase home furnishings that are way beyond your actual budget. Instead of achieving a sense of fulfillment from seeing the room come to life, you’ll most likely end up feeling guilty for spending too much money on the furniture.
The same rule applies even when picking out a chandelier for your home. So do whatever you can to avoid breaking the bank in spite of the fact that some crystal chandeliers tend to have towering prices. You may actually come across reasonably priced varieties that would still possess the look you’re going for. All you need is tons of patience and creativity to pull off this money-saving task.
The Chandelier Should Fit The Overall Look Of The Space
Aside from picking out the essential furnishings–like the dinner table, couch and so on, you also need to find ways to make all the pieces of furniture fit together. Crystal chandeliers should also match the entire look of every room they illuminate; otherwise, you’ll end up with a mishmash of stuff that doesn’t really go well together. Then again, if you’re aiming for an eclectic appearance, feel free to experiment with your choices.
Besides having a fundamental function of lighting a room up, crystal chandeliers can actually turn out to be excellent centerpieces. So be as resourceful and imaginative as you could possibly be and avoid keeping a tight rein on your decorating ideas. Experiment with the different styles of crystal chandeliers and delve into an infinite pool of design possibilities that would give your home that distinctive look.

We all know that chandeliers are beautiful. Well they can add a bit of sparkle and elegance to any room. You can buy chandeliers from a myriad of places, and there are all kinds of chandeliers from which to choose: crystal, wrought iron, alabaster, etc. Some chandeliers are exquisite in their own right, but I always add at least one special thing to make a chandelier my very own. For example, crystal chandeliers are pure gorgeousness. The crystals on these chandeliers catch light from every direction making it virtual bling for a ceiling. Fascinating for such ornamental delights, you may need to add only solid colored or patterned lampshades that match the color scheme and decor of the room. In addition to making your crystal chandelier more unique, adding shades to a crystal chandelier grounds the light fixture in the room and prevents the visual floating effect that can occur with all-crystal chandeliers.
Now on the flip side, you can take a plain, nicked hued Williamsburg style chandelier and dress it up quite a bit, yes you hear it right. You can find this type of chandelier for under a hundred bucks at your local home improvement store. You can make this less than hundred dollar chandelier look like a million bucks by adding accessories to it. You can buy crystals by the strand from a chandelier parts or lighting store. Although green and red garlands of beads scream “Christmas,” clear, pearlescent, silver, gold and copper multifaceted beads are multifunctional. That is something that gives it life and glamour. These beads can dress up an otherwise plain chandelier. You can also find pastel colored strands of beads in the holiday section of a craft store that would look quite charming on the chandelier of a young girl’s room. It is highly recommended to try and search for it.
A garland of beads from the holiday section of a craft store can be bought at a fraction of the cost of a strand of crystals made especially for a chandelier. If you shop the after holiday sales, you can save even more money on these “chandelier” accessories. Moreover, while specialty lighting stores have a limited style of chandelier accessories, the holiday section of a craft store or any other store will have tons of shapes, styles and colors from which to choose. Be on the lookout for ornaments that can act as decorative accents on your chandelier as well. Once you have purchased the accessories for your chandelier, experiment by hanging the beads in different ways on the arms of the chandelier.
Perhaps, you will want to hang the cut strand of beads from the crown of the chandelier past each arm of the chandelier and back up again. Maybe you will want to wrap a strand of beads around the entire body of the chandelier including its arms. Twisty ties can be used to keep the strands of beads in place when testing different ways of arranging the beads on your chandelier. When strategically placed, twisty ties can be used without notice in the final creation of your newly accessorized chandelier. Fishing wire or very thin bendable wire can be used, as well, to secure strands of beads and ornaments to your chandelier. It is really good to have a chandelier with your own made and it gives you the satisfaction of having your own designed crystal chandelier.

Crystal chandeliers add that extra spark to rooms all around the house. With the added elegance and charm as well as the lighting function, crystal chandeliers are a popular choice for those who are looking for lighting fixture to hang in the center of the room’s ceiling. Indeed, it is a beautiful piece of art that adds exquisiteness to one’s home.

Take time to find the best chandelier that will complement your home and consider the location and the purpose of the room to ease your task of finding the chandelier that perfectly matches your interior. Of course, your taste and preferences should not be set aside.
Working with a tight budget may be difficult but crystal chandeliers can now be purchased in different place such as your local home improvement stores, specialty stores and even online where you would not have to put up with the hassle of taking home large crystal chandeliers since you can always have the delivered right in front of your doorstep.
Crystal Chandelier Parts
Chandeliers come in totally unique designs that none ever seem to be exactly alike. This is evident when you see the number of crystal chandelier parts needed to make one chandelier.
Each part of the crystal chandelier serves a purpose. Whether it is made up of glass, a hand crafted prism or perhaps a light bulb cover, every item you can see in the chandelier should be put together in a way that it forms a beautiful and elegant piece of art. Each crystal chandelier part should interact seamlessly with the other parts in order to create a work of art when combined.
Replacing Crystal Chandelier Parts
There are a few important things that you need to take into account when buying replacement parts for your crystal chandeliers. You should match your new prisms or other parts that are as closely as possible to the old ones that you still have on the lighting fixture. That only means that you have to see to it that the size as well as the shape of the replacement parts is almost similar to the old ones if not exact.
The next thing that you will look into when buying replacement parts is the quality. Match the quality with the old one. Sometimes, the difference will not be very obvious until they are installed together with the original parts. You should also consider the color of the parts that you will buy. Colored prisms are popular nowadays and they are offered in a diverse array of sizes and shapes so you might want to use some color.

Chandeliers in the past are well-known for its gold and crystal pendants. But nowadays, chandeliers have developed into a wider array of designs ranging from sleek metal frames outlining the glass sconces to exceptional art carvings that provide a delicate illumination across the entire room, and above all, effectively add beauty to the space even without being lit.
Designs of modern chandeliers
The lights of a modern chandelier is considered to be the focal point of one’s room so when choosing a design, it is important that you should take note of that the lighting fixture’s design and as well as the craftsmanship will generally help in setting up the kind of room that you wish to have. It does not only help create the mood but it also serves as a reflection of the personality as well as the style and preference of the homeowner.
Any location
With the contemporary designs of chandeliers nowadays, they can now be installed in any room whether it is in the living room, the bedroom, dining room, or hallway or even in the bathroom. There are also other lighting fixtures that are designed with down lights that help you in doing some paper works or perhaps on the computer. You can also find chandeliers that have incandescent as well as fluorescent sources in many modern contemporary chandeliers available today.
Things to consider when buying modern chandelier designs
If you want to have an updated look for your room, modern chandeliers will do the trick. A lot of options are available for you, however, if you want a modern yet simple design, you may go for basic patterns that are made of curved metal sheets featuring sconces.
For those who are working with a particular room theme, you can find a lot of modern chandeliers uniquely designed for certain room themes such as chandeliers having bird feathers and bulbs creating the illusion of flying birds. There are also circular chandeliers that feature see-through acrylic panels where the light shines can offer a great view. Rectangular lighting fixtures having high cylinders of snowy glass that contain light bulbs can also be a great choice for your room decorative ideas.
If you want your unique and modern lighting fixtures to perfectly fit the room that you are working on, you should install them properly. For example, when installing in your dining room, the pieces should be properly placed in the center of the dining table as well as the room at a distance of approximately 48 inches away from the edges of your room. However, for high ceilings, have your chandeliers hang at about 30 to 34 inches above and bear in mind not to make use of bulbs that have high wattage so that excessive heat can be avoided.

If you have a lovely home and loves the Crystal Chandeliers and of course care for it, you might want to consider the thought of it being cleaned once in a while for your own pleasure and for the care of the chandelier as well. It is known that crystal chandeliers are really hard to clean especially when it is located high above the ceiling, I am not a big fan of too much maintenance so what I do is I let someone else clean it, not a good idea but sometimes it’s ok. But the real deal is when you can clean your crystal chandelier your own. It creates a certain amount of care and gives you the points in which you can give it a big care so you will know what to keep in mind. So, here are some basic steps to clean your crystal chandelier.
• Alternative Lighting – It is important for you to create an alternative lighting, set up alternative lighting nearby, since you won’t be able to use the chandelier for lighting while you’re cleaning it. It is hard to clean it without light or in a dark surroundings.
• Power Off – Another important thing to remember; turn off the chandelier’s power at the wall switch. Place a piece of tape over the wall switch so that no one can accidentally turn it on while you’re working. Because once someone accidentally turns it off you might get hurt and that is big trouble for sure.
• Light Bulbs Covered – To avoid damaging the bulbs it is pretty important to cover any upward-pointing bulbs with sandwich bags. Secure the bags with rubber bands. You don’t want to damage it or else you will have to replace it.
• Clean Clothing Below – To avoid any other damages for your floor and to gather the dirt or anything that will fall from the chandeliers, it is important to place a drop cloth below the chandelier. You might want to get bigger cloth to maximize the space.
• The Mixing Game – Another important thing to do before you start is mixing the cleaning ingredients, mix a solution of one part isopropyl alcohol or ammonia in three parts distilled water. Or, if you don’t want to mix your own cleaner, buy a special chandelier cleaner from a lighting retailer. Put some solution in a spray bottle. It is important to have the right amount of mix so it can be effective and avoid further damages.
• Careful Spraying – Well to start you need to spray every part of the fixture with the cleanser, avoiding wires and other electrical components. You must avoid the wires so that you can perfectly execute the cleaning, plus you don’t want to have any problems when you turn it on so avoid spraying the wires.
• Cleaning the Crystals – After spraying you need to allow the crystals to drip-dry. If your chandelier is too dirty for this drip-cleaning method, you’ll have to hand-wash each individual crystal with the cleaning solution. It is important to clean them individually so that it will be balanced and good.
So, there you have it the proper way to clean a chandelier after this all you have to do is to wait till its dry maybe give it an overnight to dry in. It is important that it will be completely dried up so that you won’t have any more problems and you will have a nice clean crystal chandelier at the end of the day.

Crystal Chandeliers are often site as just unnecessary ad-on to our home and just waste of money for people who isn’t such a big fan of them but is it just ‘unnecessary add-on’ to our home? Or does it signify a lot about our home and us? Well the question that surrounds us when it comes to crystal chandeliers are simple ones but has a lot of answers. A home is only as beautiful as its owner when given care, effort and time. Let it be known that a house is empty without this unnecessary add-on they are talking about, because crystal chandeliers have a lot to offer to your home.
Number one is elegance, we all aware of what a crystal chandelier can offer to our home and that is elegance, to your home and to yourself as well, having a nice ceiling centerpiece will definitely gives you a lot in terms of your home’s development. Like any other decors in your home a crystal chandelier holds probably the most important role because they are the ones that get the attention, the first impression and the initial look. So it’ll be a better idea to have one in your ceiling, because without one, it feels naked to say the least. It will look pale but at the same time it’ll look a bit empty.
To support what I said earlier, crystal chandeliers also give your home that tough of style and beauty, you know how good a home is on how well a person or a home owner picks his decors particularly with the chandelier. It is a good point to make that you have to at least know how to make the option good enough to qualify it as an exquisite home to live in. Unlike many other who just picks a chandelier and throw it up there in the ceiling, don’t expect people to appreciate it unless you give effort and time when choosing one. I guess it really reflects to the owner on how well he or she handles his or her home.
Noted to a fact that crystal chandeliers plays significant role on your home improvement, it doesn’t get any better than having a crystal chandelier that blends on your home. Choosing the best crystal chandelier that will best suits your home is significant and it’ll be important for the homeowner to be creative and know a thing or two about crystal chandeliers. It doesn’t need an expert to choose a good crystal chandelier it just need someone who knows the home very well, so if that fits in your category maybe you can do the picking by yourself and see what result you can get on it.

For centuries, chandeliers have become one of the most common fixtures used by many people to decorate their homes. Not only are they beautiful and elegant, but also many kinds of these chandeliers are quite functional by providing additional lighting in the house.
One of the most beautiful and widely used types of this décor is the crystal chandelier. However, before you decide on getting one for your own home, there are a few things that you must know. With this fixture’s many designs, shapes, sizes and colors, choosing the right one for you may be confusing. And you certainly want to get one that will be worth its value.
Consider Your Room Of Choice
The very first thing that you must take in mind before choosing a chandelier is the size and theme of the room where you plan to place the fixture. Remember that some of these chandeliers may be very huge and extravagantly designed, that placing them in a very small or differently themed room may not work at all.
And so, if you plan on decorating a smaller sized room then a smaller chandelier would be a great choice. But if you are decorating a huge ballroom, then feel free to go all out with more ornate models, especially those with a lot of dangling pieces. Usually, in larger spaces like living rooms, 20 to 30% of the room’s width is the ideal size in which the fixture can occupy.
Aside from this, also consider the design or theme of the room in which you plan to display your crystal chandelier. Remember that this variety usually suits more vintage-looking spaces, such as Victorian-styled rooms with matching old world furniture. Certainly, you would not want to decorate a wooden cowboy-themed cabin with a Renaissance crystal fixture, as more likely, this may not be a very good match.
The room where you plan to hang your chandelier is very crucial to getting the right size, shape and design for your fixture. Make sure that you have the right foresight in planning how you want your crystal décor to brighten up and make the room more beautiful, instead of hastily buying one and ending up making your room unattractive and mismatched.
Consider Your Budget
Another thing to remember is that, even though you want to make your home to look more elegant and beautiful, this does not necessarily have to mean that you have to let go of your financial smarts and compromise your budget.
Although most chandeliers these days may be a bit pricey, you can always find ways to get the best out of your money’s value. And take note that there are a lot of available crystal fixtures out there that are less expensive. After all, most companies nowadays would want to cater to the general public and not only to the rich.
Also take in mind that since these crystal chandeliers are usually used as lighting fixtures, you can save some money by getting energy efficient bulbs and save on your energy consumption. Even if buying the décor may have cost you some amount of money, the cost to light it up does not necessarily have to burn a hole in your pockets too.
Indeed crystal chandeliers are surely beautiful and attractive. With their artistic flair and functional lighting use, finding the right one for your home can surely make your pad glow. Just remember to take on these tips and you can easily find the right décor for you and your home.
